Patio & deck covers
Covered decks. Rain or not.
Patio covers, covered decks, porch roofs, cedar porches and awnings, so the deck gets used all year.
Patio & deck covers
Nine months of rain. Twelve months of deck.
In the Northwest an open deck sits empty half the year. A framed cover tied into the house turns it into an outdoor room: dry for the grill, the table and the morning coffee. We build covers over new decks, over existing ones, and over front porches and entries.

“They completed my rooftop deck—over 630 sq. ft. including the stairs and lighting—in about a week, and I’m very happy with how everything turned out. … One thing I really appreciated was how transparent [the owner] was with the pricing. He clearly explained the material, labor, and waste costs, so there were no surprises.”

“We hired [Black Bear] to replace some stairs, railings and waterproofing under our deck, as well as refinishing our existing deck. [The owner] was very knowledgeable, really listened to what we wanted … His team was incredibly fast and hard working, even in the rain and cold and kept everything organized and clean while they were working.”
Carolyn D. · Thumbtack, February 2026
“At first, I planned to reuse my existing frame, but their team pointed out some serious issues I hadn’t noticed. Instead of just patching things up, they built a completely new frame — giving me real value for the work they did. They also added an awning, which I’d always wanted, and it turned out beautifully.”

Common questions
Patio & deck covers: questions.
Straight answers on cost, timing and materials for decks and fences in the Pacific Northwest. Still wondering? Call or text (425) 953-7012.
Can you add a cover to my existing deck?
Often, yes. We look at the existing deck framing and the house wall at the estimate and tell you whether a cover can be added as-is or needs new posts and footings.
Will a cover make my house darker?
It depends on the design. We talk through roof style, height and pitch at the estimate so the cover keeps light reaching the windows behind it.
